Mass Innovation Nights #108 brought us to Brandeis University's Gosman Sports and Convocation Center! Eleven companies, led by the students, alumni, and faculty of Brandeis, showcased their innovative products. Brandeis – a university with global reach, Nobel Prize-winning faculty, and students who are curious, motivated, and compassionate, sponsored the event. Brandeis University was the perfect place to host Mass Innovation Nights 108, as Brandeis is a center for change-making culture and innovation; Brandeis' innovation programs were recently awarded a National Science Foundation I-Corps grant.
Rebecca Menapace, Associate Provost for Innovation, kicked off the night. Experts from Brandeis’ Computer Science department, International Business School, and Graduate Professional Studies division, as well as legal expert Neil McLaughlin, were on hand to speak about their experience and work with attendees.
The event featured a variety of startups across many industries, including biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. ABX Viscoelastics uses injectable gels for treating arthritis and soft tissue disease. Cleanfield Capital helps redevelop environmentally damaged properties through their innovative algorithm. ModiBrace is a modifiable, customizable back brace allows for the most accurate treatment of scoliosis possible. Product GreenScore contributes to more sustainable communities through smart food shopping. RC Analytic is able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of communication patterns in organizations through a survey. Tranquilo Mat helps babies fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer by mimicking the sounds and motions of a mother's womb. Thermagenix uses an innovative PCR additive to improve polymerase specificity and fidelity. Vata Verks is a building water intelligence system that tracks usage and costs, and drives conservation and savings. WorkAround is an impact sourcing provider that gives jobs to refugees, while helping companies get more work done. Sclervey maps the shape of the sclera for the creation of specialty scleral contact lenses. Cryo Cell leads the way in determining 3D protein structures in biomedical research.
