I am a patent attorney with over a decade of experience in pharmaceutical industry, working on both IP portfolios (e.g., patent filings) and corporate law (e.g., contracts). Prior to becoming a lawyer, I worked as a medicinal chemist doing drug discovery. My experience includes working in a multinational corporation supporting projects from early screening all the way through marketed products, as well as working in small pharmaceutical companies. I bring to the table expertise in IP law and corporate law, with a sharp focus on the alignment between the overarching business strategy and the legal needs for each company.
I hold a B.A. in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University, a M.A. in Chemistry from the University of Virginia, and my J.D. from New England Law, where I received a full tuition scholarship. I became a registered Patent Agent in 2002, and a registered Patent Attorney in 2007. I have recently started my own law firm (KizerSLG, LLC) focusing on providing small companies strategic legal guidance on corporate and IP law; aligning the overall business goals with services needed, at the lowest costs possible. Especially when patent protection is required, legal costs can quickly spiral out of control. My mission is to get to know the business intimately so that the legal services can be aligned with the ultimate business goals.
